Everything was so celebratory and joyful – we absolutely loved it. The singing and dancing were so cool to experience. (I think we’re slowly realizing we’d like a wedding do-over to incorporate some of these fun things we see!)

You know those parts in the ceremony – such as after the couple says “I do.” or after the rings are on? Are we the only ones who’ve ever wanted to clap during those moments, instead of that awkward silence that sometimes follows? There was plenty of clapping at James and Carol’s ceremony and we kind of think that’s the way all ceremonies should be.

We were so excited to film James & Carol’s wedding at the Marty V Leonard Chapel in Fort Worth. We had the opportunity to film at the Anthony Chapel in Arkansas last spring and we’ve been itching to have the opportunity to film at it’s sister chapel here in Texas. And of course we had fun as always working with our good pal Meshali – you can see some of her pics from James & Carol’s day here.

Ryan & Rebecca – Reception Highlight | Jonathon Link Studios | Milwaukee Wedding Videographer

It has been a busy month – even with a short break in weekend weddings – we’ve been quite the busy bees trying to take advantage of our “open” weekends getting as many projects edited and to their rightful owners 🙂 After realizing our house was dangerously approaching Hoarders territory, we finally took a few hours yesterday to clean up the aftermath of our November and December.

It was so nice to put the finishing touches on Ryan & Rebecca’s reception highlight this week. This is the type of thing that reminds us why we love what we do. After a lovely dinner inside at Pier Wisconsin, everyone headed to the tent to get their dance on and celebrate. Things started off pretty calm, but somewhere around fireworks time everyone’s cherry liquor (courtesy of Rebecca’s dad) kicked in and the dance floor was non-stop packed from then on. It was so fun to see all of Rebecca and Ryan’s families out there dancing. The reception was so lively, they had to shut the lights off mid-song just to get everyone to leave. Needless to say – we are so excited for Ryan’s sister Erin’s wedding this coming fall.

There are 10 days left to vote in the Dallas A-List contest – we got bumped out of first place this morning but we’re hoping to make our way back up top. You can vote for us by clicking here.

Documentary – The Father Effect

Wanted to take a pause from our usual wedding posts to share another project we’ve been working on with Four Story Creative.

John Finch, founder of the non-profit The Perfect Father, has a heart for fathers and the incredible impact they have in their children’s lives. Drawing on his own life experiences and sharing the stories of other fathers and children, John hopes his documentary – The Father Effect – will highlight the significant impact fathers’ words and actions have in their children’s lives and inspire all men to be better fathers and father-figures in the lives of their loved ones.

You can read more about John’s mission here and check out the trailer for The Father Effect below.

Sean & Lauren – Sneak Peek | Jonathon Link Studios | Dallas Wedding Videographer

When we found out we would have the privilege of filming it, of course we were even more pumped. We wanted to reserve this post for highlighting their wedding day, but – very long story short – Sean & Lauren have been through more prior to getting married than some couples will go through their entire marriage. You can learn more about their story here.

We have two favorite moments from their sneak peek. One is the look on Lauren’s dad’s face when he hugs her after seeing her in her wedding dress. He just looks so genuinely happy and peaceful. His face just tells not only how much he loves Lauren, but everything he feels about Sean. Our other favorite is Lauren’s face when she walks through the chapel doors to see Sean for the first time. We just love the sigh of relief and the smile that peeks across her face. Lauren is such a kind and confident young woman but it is so sweet to see how she just melts around Sean.

Both the ceremony and reception had beautiful touches of purple and teal to go along with the peacock accents. Lauren carried a gorgeous hand-made jewelry bouquet which went perfect with her gorgeous cream gown from Demetrios. The grooms cake from Delicious Cakes was an XBox 360 (so I’m surprised Jon didn’t eat it all) and there was an awesome popcorn bar from Le’ Popcorn & Candy (which I’m surprised I didn’t eat it all). And of course props to Premiere Photography who we worked along side with all day – Kelle and Jay were so nice.

The wedding and reception were both held at Bella Sera Ranch, a new venue in Palestine, Texas. It is a great little location for a medium to small wedding. The staff were all super-friendly and they even busted out a dance for everyone at the reception.

I guess we decided we’d go out with a bang in 2011 – a couple double-header weekends and a wedding in Jamaica right before Christmas, on top of trying to get as many projects out the door before this lovely year comes to a close. Needless to say, we have quite a few sneak peeks to share with you in the next two weeks!

The first is Kenny & Kelli’s wedding. (It boggles my mind that this was before Thanksgiving because I feel like it was a week ago!) This was another couple whose engagement we had the privilege of filming. I love when that happens, it just makes filming the wedding that much more fun!

Kenny & Kelli are two people who will have you in stitches in no time after any given conversation with either one of them. You can tell they feel 200% comfortable just being themselves around each other – they even walked down the isle to Vanilla Ice! But it is also so sweet to see the way Kenny treats Kelli. He makes her feel like the prettiest girl in the world and even before he turned around to see her for their first look, you could tell he felt like he’d won the lottery.

It’s always cute to see the parents’ faces during the ceremony – you can see just how excited they are for their children. Both Kenny and Kelli’s moms were wiping away tears during the vows. It was so sweet.
