Courtnee & Jake – Sneak Peek | Jonathon Link Studios | Dallas Wedding Videographer

There are happy times, there are some unexpected trials, but intertwined through it all is a beautiful love story and an absolutely picture-perfect ending.

The Oak Alley Plantation is just outside New Orleans and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. Tall, old trees line the walk-ways on both sides of the mansion. The setting truly looks straight out of a movie and the staff there were so friendly. Well worth the travel if you’re looking for an amazing, all-in-one venue.

Courtnee was the epitome of a beautiful, graceful, southern bride. Her wedding gown of lace was breath-taking and she didn’t miss a beat posing out in the warm sun for all her portraits.

We were nearly done editing their sneak peek, when we decided to go back and add some audio . . .and that is when we stumbled on our absolute favorite part of their whole wedding. Although we mic the groom for the ceremony, we really don’t go through and listen to every word we catch him saying – except for those spoken during the actual ceremony. But when we went to grab a shot of Courtnee and Jake walking down the aisle at the end of the ceremony we caught the perfect moment when Jake looks at Courtnee and says “God, you look so pretty.” It was a moment no awesome venue, expensive dress, extravagant florals, or hip music could ever come close to.

We had the opportunity to shoot along side Eddie of Jenny Martell Photography. Jenny and Eddie are both super-friendly and do awesome work, so it’s always fun to get a chance to work with them. You can check out some of Courtnee and Jake’s pictures here – click here!

Linda Milliren - What a beautiful setting! I have seen that place on television. They were a great couple and Jon did a wonderful job like he always does! Dreamy and romantic like a wedding should look.

eddie + Jenny - Bravo!!!!! great job man …. Love the music and the time lapse in the morning …. and Jenny loved when Jake whispered to her after they walked down the isle! great job you two! Congrats again Courtnee and Jake!

Kristin - Thanks guys! It was so fun to shoot at this venue and we’re just so happy, after everything, that Courtnee and Jake go their fairytale ending 🙂

Ali & Seth – Sneak Peek | Jonathon Link Studios | Dallas Wedding Videographer

But after our trip for Ali & Seth’s wedding in Wichita, we discovered Kansas is actually quite fun. Downtown Wichita has lots of cute little shops, restaurants and galleries – we wish we would have had more time to explore.

Ali and Seth are exponentially more stylish than Jon and I. Ali looked absolutely gorgeous – loved her hair, her dress, her shoes, her make-up, her jewelry, everything. Loved the guys’ relaxed vests and fun bow ties. And I loved the little nautical touches both Ali and Seth incorporated into their attire. So to sum up everything – LOVE.

I worry some brides think that if they do a first look, when they walk down the aisle the groom’s just going to shrug his shoulders and think “Eh, already saw it.” I loved that Ali & Seth shared this special moment together. We had so much great footage of them under the willow trees, it was hard to chose what to put in and what to leave out. And as you can see, it didn’t remotely change the way Seth felt seeing Ali come down the aisle.

Everything about Ali and Seth’s ceremony and reception details and decor was made for Pinterest. I can tell Ali spent a lot of time coordinating all the little DIY projects, but each of them was a perfect reflection of her and Seth’s personalities and style. Ali works at a chocolate shop and, up until graduating this spring, Seth worked as a rep. for Red Bull – so the reception also included trays of gourmet chocolates and barrels of Red Bull. We tried to stay away from this area, but I will fully admit to scarfing down my entire chocolate bar as soon as we got back to the hotel (ok, you caught me – it was in the car on the way to the hotel) and Jon had at least five Red Bulls.

We enjoyed shooting along side photographers Shaina Pearce and Josh Aryes. Many thanks to Josh for letting Jon test out Josh’s Mark III for the entire reception. We are sold.

Ali Rongkawit - Oh my goodness, this is awesome! Thank you so much Jon & Kristin for traveling up here. I’m glad Kansas turned out to be a good trip for ya’ll and that you enjoyed Cocoa Dolce’s chocolate and some Red Bull. (: You are both so sweet and I would not have had anyone else here to video our big day! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!

Kristin - Thanks Ali – we just love how sweet (and styling’!) you and Seth are, but also how much fun y’all were having together on your wedding day. We had so much great footage and that chocolate – DANG! Nom Nom!! So glad you invited us to be a part of it – truly one of the most fun weddings we’ve filmed.

Beth & Will – Sneak Peek | Jonathon Link Studios | Dallas Wedding Videographer

To be honest, I wish more brides were like Beth. She did her research and she knew exactly what questions she needed to be asking each of her vendors. She prepared herself before making any decisions. By the end of our conversations, I had so much respect for Beth’s approach to designing her wedding, as well as for Beth’s dad, who helped her with a lot of the planning. We are so glad that, after all the phone calls and decision-making, Beth and Will invited us to be a part of their wedding day.

I think it’s safe to say that most of the time Beth wears the pants. She is the organizer, the planner, the multi-tasker. Before starting her make-up she was cutting paper, scavenging boxes for programs, and directing people where to put decorations – all while trying to brush her teeth.

Will is a little more soft-spoken and laid-back . . which is funny because he’s an MMA fighter. The first thing he did after strolling into the Creekview Event Center, was scoop up baby Wesley and perform the usually diaper duty.

I would imagine these two images pretty accurately describe Beth & Will’s daily life. Anyone with four kids will tell you life is crazy – but it is so sweet to see the way Beth lights up around Will, and to see how sweet they both are with their – super-cute! – children. Everyone had such a fun time at the reception. Beths’ mom was out there dancing the night away and baby Wesley even showed everyone how to Dougie.

We love this family so much and can’t wait to join them for baby Wesley’s first birthday party next month. (Seriously, it was hard not to stick 20 more shots of him in this highlight – he’s just too cute!)

After our first meeting with them, we were pretty determined to do whatever we could to be able to film their wedding. They are two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, and once you meet both of their families – it’s easy to see where it comes from.

Brittanie & Anand are basically The Notebook. The way the two of them are together, you can tell they are just so in love. Everything about their wedding and seeing the way they look at each other, just makes you believe in the fairytale of true love. You could tell that the most important thing to Brittanie & Anand was having all of their friends and family be able to share in their wedding day. They chose to forgo the crazy floral arrangements, over-the-top decorations and huge wedding cake – but the love and happiness at their wedding more than made up for these. I think the emotions finally hit Brittanie when she received Anand’s sweet card in her dressing room . . she was in tears before she even opened the red envelope. And when Anand saw Brittanie walking down the aisle, his reaction was priceless.

We could tell from Brittanie’s Twitter feed that she and Anand definitely know how to throw a good party. Needless to say, we had high expectations for the reception and these two did not disappoint.

rekha mcgee - This takes my breath away. It captures everything about that day that was so special. I can’t believe this is the sneak. I am so glad that Anand and Brittanie hired you to do this!

Kristin - Thank you so much Rekha. Anand and Brittanie truly hold a special place in my heart – the way those two look at each other . . . it just takes me breath away and could not be any sweeter. As soon as we met them, I knew I was going to do whatever it took to make sure we could do their wedding!

Rachel & Phil – Sneak Peek | Jonathon Link Studios | Dallas Wedding Videographer

The chapel is fairly large and there is a small balcony up top. When we film at Prestonwood, I usually shoot from upstairs, while Jon stays down below. I figure the chapel is so big no one will be upstairs. About 15 minutes before go-time, I took my spot up in the balcony and waited for everything to start. A few minutes later, several people trickled into the pews upstairs with me. Then a few more. Then more. And then even more . . . until every possible spot upstairs was full, with me in the middle of everyone, and some people even standing off to the side. This was such a testament to who Rachel and Phil are – they had that chapel packed! (I truly apologize to the person who had the unfortunate luck of sitting right behind me and had to stare at my backside every time I leaned over to check my focus.)

The procession began, and all the bridesmaids made their way down the aisle and to their spots up front. But just before Rachel’s grand moment, the music stopped and Phil took the microphone. Clutching his Bible, he started talking about how special this day was to him and Rachel, how excited he was for the moment that was about to happen, and how both him and Rachel hoped that their ceremony would serve as more than just entertainment to those in the pews. I have never seen anything like this done at a wedding but it was truly such a beautiful moment, and – for me – my favorite part of their entire day. It instantly adjusted everyone’s frame of mind. Phil and Rachel didn’t want everyone there to watch their wedding. They wanted their guests to be moved in their own lives by the words of the ceremony and what was taking place.

Jon and I could not be more honored to have had the privilege to film Phil and Rachel’s wedding. We know they are going to be an amazing example for all the youth and young adults they work with both in – and outside of – church.
