Late last week we found out Fotolanthropy is going to have the opportunity to capture the story of United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills. For those of you not familiar with his story, Travis lost parts of all four limbs after stepping on an IED while on his third tour in Afghanistan in early April. Travis is one of only four people who have fought in Iraq or Afghanistan to survive this type of injury.
We were immediately captivated and extremely humbled by Travis’s attitude. Despite having to cope with unimaginable changes to his mobility, and a young wife and new baby daughter at home, Travis has the most amazing, positive attitude. We can not wait to share his story. Especially during this election season when there is such incredible tension and divisiveness in our country, we know this story is going to serve as a reminder of what a truly blessed country we live in and the young men and women who risks their lives daily on our behalf.
Please keep the Fotolanthropy team in your prayers this following week. Jon, and friend at Four Story Creative – Brian, will be heading to North Carolina next week. Praying for cooperative weather and just an enjoyable and meaningful time for all. In the mean time, you can learn more about Travis’s story by visiting his website – just click on the photo below.
