In the beginning of December we had the privilege of filming the wedding of Calvin & Katie at Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian. The setting was so fitting, given that this is where Calvin and Katie first met as camp counselors.
The one thing so clear on this wedding day, and unfortunately all too rare at many weddings now, was that Calvin & Katie were just looking forward to being married. While family members, friends and vendors helped to set up the chapel for the ceremony and reception, there was a distinct calmness over Calvin and Katie as they prepared to walk down the aisle. It seemed to match perfectly with the quiet, serene nature of the campgrounds on this beautiful fall day. Flowers, cakes, dresses and table settings were all wonderful, but so unimportant compared to the excitement of starting their new journey together.
We must also add that Calvin & Katie’s reception provided some of the most entertaining speeches from their wedding party and family. We were just in stitches listening to the stories people shared. One even included props!
