In 2013 Jonathon Link Studios, in partnership with non-profit Fotolanthropy, filmed and produced their first feature documentary – Travis: A Soldier’s Story.
This documentary tells the amazing story of SSG Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne. On April 10th, 2011 Travis was seriously injured in an IED explosion while on routine patrol during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan. Travis lost portions of all four limbs, making him only the fifth quadruple amputee from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive this type of injury. But Travis was determined to “Never Give Up. Never Quit.” and his recovery has been nothing short of remarkable.
Featuring powerful interviews and dramatic reenactments from Travis, his wife Kelsey, and fellow soldiers – Josh Buck, Daniel Bateson, Ryan Theriot, Alex Voyce and Brandon Fessey – this inspiring true story will challenge the way you approach life’s unexpected trials and your awareness of the incredible men and women – and their spouses – serving our country.
Filmed and produced completely by volunteers, Travis: A Soldier’s Story is the work of many hearts, using their talents to help share this amazing story of perseverance and hope.
Travis: A Soldier’s Story premiered in Dallas at a sold-out red carpet event in August and most-recently screened at the US Capital theater for Congress. To see up coming showings and events or to request a showing in your city, please visit www.travisthemovie.com
